Exciting News!

Calendars were marked for Saturday, June 10, 2023, because Vallejo, CA experienced an artistic injection! The unforgettable event, an Art Raffle and Fundraiser hosted for Mission Widows, was filled with vibrant paintings, and charitable contributions.

But that wasn't all; attendees had the chance to be the lucky winner of an authentic piece of art created by the talented Tz'utujil Maya painter, Mariano Gonzalez Chavajay. They couldn't believe their eyes witnessing the magnificent and colorful pieces he had crafted. Those who want to see for themselves this magnificent art can click the "Art" link on the site and enjoy the mesmerizing artwork.

Those who attended had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to support a great cause and take home a priceless piece of art.

We offer our contributors periodic updates and the option of visiting MSP on your own at any time. Our “boots on the ground” in Guatemala are also volunteers and have committed their lives to this work. Words fail to describe their humility, kindness, hard work, and commitment to our widows. They are what makes MSP sustainable and we work hand in hand with them, with deep respect for their culture, in order to make this work collaborative.

Our 25 widows need approximately $1.00 per day for food. Many of our contributors select the PayPal option of an on-going $35 a month to contribute these food baskets. Other contributors choose to contribute to the general fund.

Our most urgent needs are these:

  • Replacement water filters (30 X $65) = $1950 needed before November of 2024.

  • On-going support for widow's food baskets, garden and medical fund. Please choose the monthly repeat feature on PayPal so that they can rely on your support.

UPCOMING VISIT! 3rd week of November, 2024

We visit our Guatemala team and the widows during Thanksgiving week every year. We can think of no better way to celebrate Thanksgiving 2024 than being with our beautiful Maya friends.

They have taught us deep and lasting lessons. We are forever in their debt for showing by example what it means to live in faith, humility, love and gratitude.

We are collecting donations to purchase these items. Please donate!
